Freedom House released a report on China’s religious freedom. The report includes a 22-page chapter on Falun Gong. The section “The money trail: Expenditures, exploitation, and organ harvesting” corroborates the large scale of killing of Falun Gong practitioners for their organs since the early 2000s.

After a study from China was published last year in Liver International, the official journal of the International Association for the Study of the Liver, medical processionals questioned the source of the 564 liver transplantations performed consecutively at Zhejiang University. After the author failed to provide evidence that these organs were from voluntary donors, the journal made the decision to retract the paper. (Also report on ScienceMag)

US House of Representatives Unanimously Passes Legislation Condemning Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong in China. H.Res.343, an item of legislation that expresses concern by the House of Representatives on “persistent and credible reports of systematic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from nonconsenting prisoners of conscience in the People’s Republic of China” was passed unanimously on the evening of June 13, with impassioned speeches on the floor by members of Congress.
